Lyra playing the SOS Fest on July 10![]() Lyra has been asked to play at the 1st annual SOS Fest held in the heart of Old Strathcona. SOS Fest is Old Strathcona's first-ever collaborative annual live music festival and is in support of Warchild Canada and the Alberta Music Education Foundation. From 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, July 30, Lyra Brown, Paul Cresey, Alanna Clarke and Lucas Chaisson will take to the stage at Communitea Café, on the corner of 10 St. and Sixth Avenue in Canmore. The lineup for this year's CBC Nextfest 2010 Music Series-curated by our good friend Chris Martin-has been announced. Lyra will be playing on Tuesday, June 8th @ 10pm at the Roxy Theatre with Brian McLeod on bass/guitar and Shadi Merhej on drums. It's sure to be a great show as she'll be playing lots of recently written material. Along with Lyra, the musical lineup includes Ariane Mahryke Lemire, Conner McGuire, Cris Derksen, James Clarke, Mass Choir and The Juice.
Nextfest 2010 runs from June 3-13 in more than fifteen venues across Edmonton. With over four-hundred artists participating in visual art, film, dance, theatre and music, there is something for everyone. You can vote for her as many times as you want by joining as a fan at OurStage.com. Lyra has entered her song Vegetarian Veterinarian. After May 20th, the top 20 songs will move on to the next round. Lyra at the 2010 Edmonton Folk Music Festival![]() We're super excited around here. Lyra will be playing the 2010 Edmonton Folk Music Festival. I know we're jumping the gun a bit on this as it has not been officially announced, but hey we just couldn't resist telling you. She will be featured on the U22 stage and may be playing the main stage as well. We'll post more details when they become available. Performance times and stages will be announced May 26. Tickets go on sale June 1 @ 9am. The Festival runs August 5-8 at Gallagher Park. Lyra covers The Beatles![]() Chad from Makin' Whoopee, and Mike B. host of Finding the Rhythms, combined their creative CJSR forces to bring us Brinx Job. After receiving the thumbs up from the fab four, they played Lyra's recently recorded cover of The Beatles classic track She Said, She Said. So far only a few friends have had a chance to hear her play it, but thanks to Chad and Mike you can hear it too. #YEG Swap
They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. On Saturday, March 20th, you can test that theory at the inaugural #YEG Swap. The #YEG Swap is a community event at The ARTery that will also double as the coming-out party for a local group called the League of Extraordinary Media.

Hey just wanted to let you know Lyra recorded a great version of the Rilo Kiley song Don't Deconstruct today on her 4-track. Rilo Kiley was fantastic band that included Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett. Jenny of course became famous in her own right and Blake formed a band called The Elected.
On her cover version, Lyra sings all the trumpet and string quartet parts and the ending will put a smile on your face. She's uploaded it to her music page. Lyrics and Downloads
